Site

Well i just re added my folder 1000000000000 times to my ONID and finally the stupid thing decided to show up. Phew. Not taking any chances. Here is my final website critiquing 3 other sites from the list the Krista gave us. Enjoy.

Issues

So i figured out that our folder had to be titled something folder and not just site or public would not recognize it. However, i deleted it from my public to make a final edit and then i went to add the updated sitefolder to my public. Now though, it once again will not recognize the folder. I don't get why its being this way and why is does not like me. These are little things that make me wish all computers would blow up. Okay. Ill try again later...i guess. Fucking ONID.

Progress

I can see the finish line.  Site is working fine through .html, will have it live either tonight, but most likely tomorrow.  Its simple, basic and clean.  Design is what it is, nothing special, but the site works.  Thats key.  There are links to other sites that give descriptions.  Thats key too.  And i have all the information.  Sweet.  

Its Been Awhile

Oh hey there.

This is a little awkward I'm sure.  I used to come by, say hi, chat for a bit, give you attention at least 3 times a week.  I know, i know i have not been by since the 1st.  Yes, but I'm here now, okay?  Great.

Website update.  I have a theme that is not very impressive, but I'm running with it.  I am keeping it basic.  Its black background with white text, shocking.  Might add a little color, but I am trying to keep it simple.  This really is not a fun website, its a critique and i don't want people to overlook the information by all the cool in and outs of a website, but i also don't want them to say......no thanks.  Will i get marked down for that?  I guess i would, since we have all the information about how a website should be.  That just makes me sad.  I guess ill find some cool things to play with.  I don't know.  My home page title is REDISCOVER/CREATE, like rediscovering the best of the best about websites and then re-creating that.  I have kept a format basic with a header, content and a soon to be footer.  I feel like those things are the essential aspects of a website and the rest are flashy effects that don't do much.  But then again I'm fairly minimalistic.  I just created a poster for Ed's class and i have NEVER used so much crap on one page.  I like it, but its not my style.  I guess that will be my goal these next 2 and 1/2 days of website preparation: find a way to bring some doodads and bells and whistles into my site while keeping it simple.

Alright, thanks for listening Blog, i know its been awhile.  Ill try to visit a couple more times in the next few days.  

I am finished with all my basic .html and now all i have to do is select the images i want to be in my pages.  I retook the screen shots so it is just the site and not the desktop and all that jazz.  I am feeling pretty good about where i am at with this.  The basic code is coming back to me, loosely.  My site map is easy to use and easy to move from one site to the next.  From here on I'm going to finalize my code, touch up some design issues and then on Wednesday we will learn about how to go live and if i have any final questions about how to incorporate all photoshop designs into actual site designs.  Thats why we got tutorials though.  Its out last week of classes, and i just got to commit and hunker down to finish this up, no need to end a good term of school with some awful performances and work....so yeah.  We will see how that goes.  Krista, I'm sorry that we are checked out as a class...hopefully we can pull through with our last day.

This is my awesome illustrator made site map for my webpage. I used awesome color schemes like black for information/portal, blue for critique and red for the actual websites. My website will follow this form roughly, not colors though. Uh yeah, ill stop rambling now.

Home Page

I have create a rough sketch of a home page of my website that critiques the 3 other sites. I wanted this page to be simple, state something in the title and show a brief description of the website in a structured format like the other three. At the top of the description there will be a link to the actual website, where as the description will be a very brief critique that leads to another page with the full critique of the website and the necessary information Krista requires.
